Congratulations to the Austin Spartans for reaching their second straight Finals and this time finishing the task and winning the Championship. The Spartans started the tournament with a double OT loss to What Might Have Been but then picked up momentum and dominated the rest of the way. The only question now is does this team have what it takes to play in the A division or are they destined for only the B division. Congrats also to the Carrollton Soldiers who after a one year absence are back in the finals.

Austin Spartans- I feel that this team might be a tweener as they might be a little too good for B and may not have a chance in A. It will be interesting to see which direction they chose next year. They may want to experience the challenge of A but unless they get more physical, they will be back in B.

Carrollton Soldiers- This team is the prototypical B team that lacks height but can play basketball with any team. This is a fun team to watch play and will be one of the favorites to win B next year.

Dallas Encore- This is another borderline tweener team that would probably get bounced in A but can make a strong run in B. They do have some height but still too young for A.

What Might Have Been- Old Bandit players who put the only loss to the Champion Spartans. This was an experienced tram that just ran out of gas in the playoffs. They also faced a team in the Soldiers who wanted it more than they did.

California Make It Rain- California made a return trip and unfortunately drew the top rated Spartans. I am not sure how the 2 hour time difference effects this team, but it takes them a while to get going which in tournament play is not a good thing.

Houston Lit- These young Houston kids came a few inches away from advancing to their first Final 4. They went into Sunday as the #3 seed by winning their bracket but are still learning how to win the games that count.

Past Their Prime- They have no scoring and no defense, hence, they finished with an 0-3 record. The name says it best. Hopefully, they can get it together for next year's tournament.

Maryland Charm City Connection- They drew a tough bracket, survived the play in game and then met the top seed going into Sunday which eventually did them in. Many of their players are members of the Runner Up flag football team so they had their hand full all weekend.

Arlington Kings- This is a better team than their record and performance showed. I am not sure if they were missing anyone, but the Kings usually put on a better performance than they did this weekend. They looked completely out of sync and I expect them to come back next year more focused.

Overall, the B Division tournament had some good games but most important of all, it gave players and teams an opportunity to participate in a National tournament that they would not have done had the B division not existed.
