Tobin, Point taken.... We discussed the format and one of the rules that will be in place is that if you forfeit a game, then you will not qualify for the playoffs. Most tournaments guarnatee 3 games and we did the same but that third game determined if you made it to the elite 8 or not. With this format, we allowed teams to play into the elite 8 and made bracket placement not come into play. So all the 2-0 teams played 0-2 teams and the 1-1 went toe to toe to advance to the elite 8. The end result, we got the top 8 teams from the tournament based on results and not on bracket play. We didn't eliminate anyone because they didn't win by enough points.

Blaze is definitely one of the best teams in Texas, but let's not forget Showtime played without the best young player in IPB in JB. In response to your challenge to the out of state teams, in the 18 years, we have had the following out of state teams win: Chicago Untouchables (3), Maryland Pillars (1), California...

On behalf of the Dallas Blaze, i'd like to say good job on throwing another great basketball tournament isaac. Once again you added something new and very useful to the tournament with medical interns. Helped our guys be ready and prepared for each game especially because our players were coming off injuries. One thing i did not like was the concept of everyone making the playoffs. That gave teams the ability to not show up in their games or even show up to the game. That is unfair to the guys that paid their money and took the time to show up and be ready to play.

Big ups to Houston Boyz for wining the championship. Didnt get to see the final game but seems like they played really good. When i first saw their squad this weekend i had a feeling they would make a deep run.

As for our team, i would like give all of our guys big props on the way they played this weekend.. We had an amazing run and we were shocked by a last second shot by Sunny of the Jibbs in...

On behalf of the Chicago Untouchables, we would like to thank Ice and the rest of the staff for a tremendous tourney. I think it's important to say that the addition of the medical team on site throughout the tourney was the best new element added to any tourney. All tourney coordinators should seriously consider this addition to each of the tourney. That alone took this tourney to another level.

Congratulations to the Houston Boyz on an amazing run. Ice, you have them listed at 6-0 but we did beat them in bracket play...That's a great team right there. Their intensity and post play was dominant and clearly they brought their best to each game, something which we as a team have yet to learn.

A lackluster finish for us in the Elite 8 game sent us home early, something we clearly deserved. You should never blow a 20 point lead, nor blow a 7 point lead with 90 seconds left, and clearly the Boyz wanted it more than us. Goose and Manish played well...

Congratulations to the Houston Boyz on their first National championship in almost 20 years. We can now officially remove the label off of them as the best team to never have won a National title. I will leave it up to debate who is now the best team to not win a title, but Domenators come to mind. Congratulations are also in order to the Jibs who showed that they can play at a Championship level even though everyone is a little older.

The A division tournament overall proved to be quite interesting in that no team went undefeated. There were some very close games and some key upset along the way.
